Michael Brody, former Scottsdale Community College
Expected graduation: Graduated Dec. 2003
Career Goals: To become a self-employed hospitality consulting business owner.
Michael enjoys the people aspect, especially serving the guest. He would like to meet people within this profession to help build a network of people and to train on professional topics.
Luis S. Campos, Scottsdale Community College
Expected graduation: Summer 2004
Career Goals: Possibly to run a Bed & Breakfast
Luis enjoys meeting people. He's joined HSMAI for the referrals and contacts.
Brian Culbreth, NAU
Expected graduation: December 2004
Career Goals: To eventually own and manage my own property.
Brian has worked in hotels and restaurants for 5 years, and has never wanted to do anything else. He really enjoys meeting people.
Eric Garten, Scottsdale Community College, NAU
Expected graduation: May 2004
Career Goals: He's interested in Sales and Food & Beverage.
Eric was influenced by Michael Berk, Sales Manager for Four Seasons Dallas, TX, because he shows such passion for his job. Eric loves the constantly changing atmosphere and people of the industry.
Marc Jacott, Scottsdale Community College
Expected graduation: May 2006
Career Goals: To work in Sales & Marketing in a hotel in San Francisco.
Hearing Mr. Dan Tarvinsky, Director of Marketing at Westin Kierland, explain what he does sparked an interest in this industry for Marc. He feels HSMAI will give him a pathway into the industry and get his name out there.
Kate Kramer, NAU
Expected graduation: 2005
Career Goals: To be a manager at the Front Office or Banquet Department.
Kate is interested in the diverse jobs available in the industry. She is driven to be in management. She enjoys the fast pace of the industry and that nothing is the same from day to day.
Sameer Mehta, Scottsdale Community College, NAU
Expected graduation: May 2005
Career Goals: To learn all aspects of the hotel industry.
Sameer enjoys working with people and getting to know different people and their cultures. He feels HSMAI can help him network and provide tips on sales and marketing.
Devon Roecke, NAU
Expected graduation: May 2005
Career Goals: To work overseas for a number of years.
Devon finds the hospitality field a great way to travel and interact with many different types of people.
Tanika Schliebe, NAU
Expected graduation: May 2005
Career Goals: Long term - Director of Sales and Marketing
Tanika is drawn to the Hospitality industry by the people! She loves working and dealing with people and how nothing is ever the same.
Corissa Speisman, Scottsdale Community College
Expected graduation: 2005
Career Goals: To join a management team that values customer service and their employees.
Corrissa started the Hospitality Program in High School, taking college level classes for credit. Her internship at Hyatt Regency in Scottsdale made her want to join the industry. She loves working with people and servicing customers with the highest level of customer service.
Jennifer Yanni, NAU
Expected graduation: 2005
Career Goals: To work in a corporate hotel or resort in group business.
Jennifer enjoys the ever changing day-to-day tasks and the environment of the hospitality industry. She enjoys learning about groups - meetings, weddings, etc. and everything involved with planning and preparing a hotel for them.
